[Resolved] Googlebot Cannot Access Your JavaScript and CSS Files

css-js-errorRecently a lots of website owners are getting the alert from Google about “Googlebot Cannot Access Your JavaScript and CSS Files” , This can be easily resolved by using the following Fix

1) Access your hosting panel using FTP / Control Panel

2) Go to the root folder of your Website (In most cases it is public_html)

3) Inside that root folder you can see a file called “robots.txt’ , edit that file and check for the following entries

Disallow: /.js$*

Disallow: /.inc$*

Disallow: /.css$*

Disallow: /.php$*

If you see any of the above remove those lines & add the following lines

User-Agent: Googlebot
Allow: .js
Allow: .css

4) Once you have complete the above step , save  you robots.txt file and go to Google’s Fetch and Render tool

which will indicate whether  you have  fixed the problem or not .

If Googlebot is still being blocked, the tool will provide further instructions on changes to be made to the robots.txt file.

In addition, you can use the robots.txt testing tool in Search Console to identify if there are any other crawling issues.
